Once again, we find ourselves in eclipse season, that time of year where we have back-to-back Lunar and Solar eclipses. The first of these pairs takes place on November 19 at 3:57 AM (EST). This Lunar Eclipse finds the Moon and 27˚14” Taurus and thus the Sun at 27˚14” Scorpio. Although for those of us in the Americas, it will happen in the wee hours of the morning, the energy it will bring in will be palpable a day before and after the exact alignment.
It’s Eclipse season again. Although the time within the calendar year eclipse season takes place varies year to year, we always have a pair of eclipses back-to-back, about twice a year. Enter tomorrow’s Total Lunar Eclipse at 7:13 AM (EDT) 5˚ 25’ Sagittarius, the first one of 2021.
As you may have seen in the plethora of eclipse postings out there, this will be a Blood Moon. But that is just because when the Moon is fully eclipsed, it looks blood red. So, while this is not an unimportant point, it’s not unique to this Eclipse; all total lunar Eclipse is are Blood Moons.
If my yesterday was any indication of what this upcoming Mercury in Retrograde will be, we are in for quite the ride. The God of communication will be turning on his heals today at 9:04 PM (EDT) just past 180˚ from Uranus, the God of the unexpected and innovation. So, while every Mercury Retrograde (Rx) […]
Like many around the world, I find myself sheltering-in-place. And in these unprecedented times, I have spent a lot of time turning inward to see where and how I can be of most help. To be honest, when life first began on the trajectory, we now find ourselves, I became a little frantic in my desire to be of help to family, friends, neighbors, clients, and students. In those early days, that feel like 3-months, not 3-weeks ago, I created a two-page list of all the classes I was going to develop and launch in a week.
Once again, Mercury, the messenger, is moving backward through the sky. Although the term Mercury Retrograde is becoming ever more common, it is often misunderstood. So, before I take you too far down the rabbit hole, here is a little context as to what is happening. Firstly, when a planet is retrograde, yes, all planets go retrograde; it is not, in fact, moving backward; it merely appears to be from our perspective on Earth. I often explain it to clients by likening it to the sensation of driving by an 18-wheeler and experiencing the feeling of drifting backward.
There’s been a lot out there on the inter-webs about tonight’s Super Wolf Blood Moon. A mouthful to be sure, it sounds a lot more fantastical than it really is. That’s not to say that a total lunar eclipse is without significance. But before we get into its meaning let’s first demystify some of the other language being attached to it.
For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, today is the Winter Solstice. The time when we have the least amount of Sunlight all year. This year, as it happens, the next day, about 20hrs later is a Full Moon. Before we get to the Moon, let’s first talk a bit about this, the longest night of the year.
Good goddess is this year’s New Moon in Cancer a whopper of a lunar launching-pad.
New Moons are in the same astrological sign as the Sun. So, since we are in the time of Cancer, the New Moon on the 12th of July at 10:48 PM EDT is also in Cancer.
At the beginning of the year, I had the honor to write the forward to the first issue of Celestial Vibes, a new digital astrology magazine out of India. Then earlier this month I had the good fortune to be interviewed by the founder of Celestial Vibes- Aswin Balaji Subramanyan Go here to take a […]
New Moons are times of new beginnings. This month’s New Moon is at 27˚ Pisces on March 17th at 9:11 AM EDT. Pisces, the sign of the two fishes is majestically interwoven into the dream time and all things that are non-tangible. Pisces governs all things malleable, other dimensional. It rules our feet and is […]
