Today’s new Moon in Gemini comes as we are finally out of the retrograde and shadow of all the retrograde energy from Mercury and Venus that has dominated the first half of the year. As the name implies New Moons are about the New. They are a time of beginnings, of invocation, and laying the stepping stones to get us to a new destination. We all get stuck in the record grooves of life; and can be challenged to find a new way, a new song to be part of the soundtrack of our life.New Moons offer us the opportunity to set change into motion.
When, as happens once a year, we have a New Moon in Gemini we are called to find new words, to communicate in new ways and on new topics. Have you been in conflict with someone in your life, feeling as though you are a broken record, always speaking and never being heard? Use this Moon to shake thinks up – find new ways to say the same thing. Have you been meaning to say something, blog more, write an email – but keep putting it off? Today is the day. Find some time today and over the next two weeks (before the Full Moon) to write, make that phone call, journal, blog. Today is a fabulous day to brainstorm; come up with new ways to communicate and understand old ideas- maybe there is a book you’ve been saying you were going to start for years that you keep putting it off, or maybe the copy on your website needs a facelift. See if the words flow more smoothly with the New Moon on your side.
Because today the planet, Venus and the planet Pluto are 90 degrees away from one another (known as a square), at the same time of the Full Moon it is also a time to transform what we love and value. As you reflect today and find new ways of communication there may be a component of this call to find new words that are about what you value, have, love and what within that you are needing, wanting or called to let go off. Give voice to your needs, speak your truth (with kindness). Gemini is the social butterfly of the zodiac, you may be called to be quite social today, wanting to share your thoughts and feelings with those around you, even strangers. Tact is not something Gemini does very well – so we may all be a bit vulnerable to partaking in TMI today. As you share your thoughts and feeling make sure to listen too.
With this New Moon happening at 4 degrees, those of you with Planets and/or points in the early degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) will likely feel this New Moon with the greatest intensity.
