“Even after all this time the sun never says to the earth, ‘You owe Me.’ Look what happens with A love like that, It lights the Whole Sky.” – Hāfiz
The Sun moved into Cancer today marking the first day of Summer, in the Northern half of the world. Whether this Solstice day marks for you a day of maximum or minimum light, today is a day of transition; a turning point into a new place and pace of being. And whether you find yourself in Seattle or Sydney– dancing into Summer or Winter – today is a day to honor the light of the world as well as your own.
As Cancer is a sign associated with nurturing; spend sometime today honoring and nurturing your own light, you are a luminous being – let your light shine.
Sometime today or in the coming week, with a journal in hand, sit and reflect on the year so far. If you set goals, intentions or resolutions for yourself back in January, how are you doing with them? There is no judgment here, it is simply a time to reflect, and alter if so needed.
Perhaps some goals have yet to manifest, or maybe they have fallen into the background over time; perhaps they need to me altered, tweaked in some way to reflect your true intention. Maybe once you began down a path you came to find it was not one you wanted to be on. Or maybe something happened, or didn’t happen, that diverted you from your goals. Did you reach a goal, but are now feeling stagnate and need to set an intention of a next step?
At this time of transition you get to revamp your goals, and/or set new ones. If you didn’t set goals in the New Year you can always do it now – there’s no time like the present.
As the Sun is now in the watery sign of Cancer, water can also serve as a beautiful way to cleanse and begin anew. If you live near a natural body of water, that’s not too cold, submersing yourself into its healing powers, with the intention of washing away, that which no longer serves you, can be transformational at this time. If you don’t happen to live near water, or even if you do, you can always take a relaxing bath. Add some bubbles or essential oils. Light some candles, and pamper yourself in the healing and cleansing capability of water.
