Full Moons are times of completions and endings. A full moon is at its zenith point, reflecting more of the Sun’s light then at any other point in its cycle. With this full moon don’t be surprised if you find yourself feeling deeply about things from your past. In general full moons make us all a pit more sensitive. And as the sign of Cancer is associated with the Moon, this welling up of emotions will likely be particularly strong with this new moon. Things you thought you were done with may come back around – and/or things you began with the Cancer New Moon – back in late June may finely come into completion.
Moon is often associated with mother or the mother archetype. So in addition to having our feelings turned up to 11, we may also find our selves both longing to be nurture and to nurture those around us. Whether with words, mama bear hugs, or warm comfort food – Cancer calls us to embody Mother in the best possible sense of the word.
This, the 1st Full moon of the year, is known by many names throughout the world; the Wolf Moon, the Quiet Moon, the Winter Moon and perhaps most applicable with it falling in Cancer the cooking Moon. Make some good nurturing foods tonight, and like Tita in Like Water for Chocolate impute your food with loving emotions.
This Moon is likely to have the greatest impact on those of us with planets and/or points in our charts in cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn).
