Maybe it is because I am a month away from officially having my PhD, and I’m in the process of relocating, but this month I’m feeling particularly drawn to working with the Full Moon.
This month the Full Moon is in Capricorn, and is officially in the wee hours of the morning on Saturday here on the West Coast. In truth practical Capricorn is not a sign the emotional Moon is particularly comfortable in at any phase of the lunar cycle. The Moon is receptive while Capricorn is restrictive.
At times when these two archetypes or energies come together they co-create experiences for us all that can be somewhat uncomfortable. I wouldn’t be surprised if Friday and Saturday bring feelings of inadequacy and or critical of yourself or others. At this same time you may feel as though you are not free to express how you feel. But all is not lost.
I have written before about making a wish list of things you want to bring to you on the New Moon. The opposite is true on the Full Moon. During the full Moon its a fantastic time to let go of, things that we want to remove or release. Additionally it is a fantastic time to bring things into completion.
To make the most out of this possibly grumpy time, make a list of all the things around authority, power, restriction, resistance you want to let go of. Add to that a list of things you want to be done with, complete with. Burn the list, releasing these changes and calls for completion into the sky. If you live in an apartment and don’t have the ability to go outside burn it in your kitchen sink with the window open There is a line in a song by the singer Jewel that is good to keep in mind at this time. “No longer lend your strength to that which you wish to be free from” – tonight and tomorrow you get a chance start and do just that.
